Course Description

This course is designed to equip teaching assistants with essential skills and knowledge to support effective learning in contemporary classrooms.

Throughout the course, participants will explore strategies for developing key skills such as literacy, numeracy, oracy, and critical thinking. Special focus will be given to inclusive teaching practices, behavioural management, and cross-curricular understanding.

Participants will also deepen their understanding of formative assessment methods and reflect on their professional practice, using theoretical frameworks to guide their growth and evaluate their impact on learners. They will also identify and respond appropriately to learners’ social and emotional cues, recognising early signs of behavioural or emotional difficulties.
