Course Description

In Unit 1, trainees will dive into the philosophical roots and practical implications of major approaches. Reasoning about adult intent, child agency, and the prepared environment. Aligning pedagogy to developmental needs and observed interests, fostering reflective practice habits.

By the end of this unit, trainees will be able to:

  • Recognise key pedagogical approaches (Montessori, Froebel, Reggio, Bronfenbrenner).

  • Distinguish child-led, guided and adult modes and when to use each

  • Articulate the adult’s role and reflective decision-making in practice
