C1 - Module 3 Unit 1: Curriculum, Planning, and Assessment

In Unit 1: Foundations of Building a Meaningful Curriculum in Early Childhood, trainees will learn the concept of curriculum as a coherent, values-driven design that supports the holistic development of the child. They will also analyse international models, explore how children's interests can be highlighted, and develop a shared curriculum vision that takes context into account.

By the end of this unit, trainees will be able to:

• Describe the purposes and principles of the curriculum

• Explain how culture, values and context shape the curriculum

• Promote child autonomy and voice in the planning process
